This piece is a collaboration with K-Interiors. It is a custom designed playhouse for a young girl. The design features dark-stained mahogany wood on the exterior with floral wallpaper for the interior. The design features a skylight and a wall sconce with battery powered LED bulbs in order to illuminate the interior better. Additionally, I constructed a small child-sized table to serve as a play kitchen table. All materials and finishes are outdoor grade, since the client plans to have this in their backyard at some point.

This project was a collaboration with designer Sindhu Peruri and Josh Podoll of ChopWood Co. The design features curved walnut wings flanking the headboard. These wings feature marble sconces and floating nightstands with amethyst drawer pulls. The bedframe and headboard are made from padded and upholstered poplar.

This design was conceived from a napkin sketch handed to me by a client. Together, we iterated the design with 3D modeling to get to this final form. The client knew they wanted brass features somewhere on the table, and we settled on capped legs and a brass “keystone” at the top of the arch form.

Three unique organic walnut burl shapes designed to nestle together. The legs are custom made from Lucite and the clear look makes the tables appear as they are floating. A pair of bent-lamination walnut tables made for Tineke Triggs.

This TDR Woodwork original design is awhite oak lounge chair that features a repeating arch pattern throughout. 1/4” raw cow hide is glued directly to the wood and spans unsupported across the wood frame. The natural elastic properties of the leather allow it to stretch when you sit on it while it conforms to your body form.

This project is one of my favorites to date. I had the pleasure of working with LUFT Designs on this set of white oak furniture for a recently remodeled home in the hills of Piedmont, CA. The furniture was all designed with Scandanavian inspiration and clean, simple lines.

This circular dining table is made from a truly unique and rare wood, sourced from a standing dead tree. It is a hybrid species of Claro walnut, English walnut, and Eastern Walnut. The reason for the name “Paradox” is that the genetic combination led to a species that is taller, harder, and grows faster than either three of its parent species.

This wood is a result of an experimental botanist, Luther Burbank, in Sonoma County, CA. The wood was sourced from his personal experimental farm on Sonoma Mountain, due to the fact that the tree had died.

60” Diameter Circular Dining Table. This tabletop was pieced together using three exquisite pieces of curly redwood. The three pieces are connected using walnut splines. I employed the use of a chamfer reveal in the wood joints in order to emphasize the fact that the top is comprised of several pieces. The reveal also accentuates the feeling that the pieces are being held together by the splines.

The steel pedestal base is inspired by the cast-iron bases of vintage sewing machines.

Circular Form above a triangular form. The only two parallel faces on this table are the table top and lower tray. Everything else on this table is a unique and difficult compound angle, making this simple form surprisingly challenging to build from a geometric standpoint.

Rectilinear dining table design with some strong Donald Judd undertones. The spalted maple woodgrain is very busy, so I found it necessary to balance it with a simple table form. Besides the woodgrain, this table design is otherwise featureless. In order to give the design one characteristic feature, I included a single notched joint in the base that literally ties the design together.

This 12’ Long x 5’ Wide table was made for the lobby of Rivian Automotive’s Palo Alto office. The Table is made from two bookmatched slabs of American Elm, salvaged from a dead tree standing outside of the Hayward Public Library.

These tables and matching benches were made for the Cafe at Rivian Automotive’s Palo Alto office. They are made from American Elm salvaged from the Sacramento Valley. The tables measure 90” Long x 36” Wide and feature hidden casters.

This conference table was made for Rivian Automotive’s Palo Alto office. The table is made from laminated plywood and a plant based laminate, Forbo, and sits atop a powder coated steel base. The base pedestals are made from 1/8” steel wrapped around a frame. They have hidden panels to access electrical drops coming from the tabletop.

A client wanted to do a production run of Evan Shively’s, of Arborica, signature stool design. Evan contracted me to produce the stool prototype for his client in Malibu, CA. The original stool design was made from old growth redwood, however I prototyped a stool in Elm and in old growth Redwood.

This set of white Oak bookshelves was made for a K-Interiors residential project. The set of shelves feature notched shelves and crossbeams with through-tenon construction. 78” Tall x 66” Wide x 14” Deep

This maple kitchen island proved to be a crucial part of this kitchen. The existing kitchen had very little cabinet and shelf storage, so this piece allowed the client to store all of their kitchenware and tools in the same space for easy access. 96” Long x 36” Wide x 36” Tall

Woodturning is my favorite aspect of woodworking, I just wish I had more time to turn for fun between the custom furniture orders. While most woodworking is a slow and patient process, woodturning is very interactive and immediate artform.
